RA Sushi + Bronx Bar

It’s Friday night in Houston, folks! I hope everyone has fun plans for the evening, plans to get out in this beautiful city and have some fun on a hot summer night. If you’re all dressed up with no place to go, here are a few hints:

RA Sushi (Westheimer)
3908 Westheimer Rd (Highland Village)
Houston, TX 77027
(832) 539-4528

In the summertime, nothing sounds better than sushi. It’s cool and refreshing, and much more friendly to bikini season than fried Gulf shrimp. For some of the best sushi in town, you must visit RA Sushi on good ole Westheimer.

Yeah, I know it’s a chain. But it’s a good chain. I mean, Chili’s doesn’t exactly have valet parking. Oh, but RA Sushi does! And complementary valet parking, too.

RA Sushi has a chic atmosphere, great views of the city and cool music. I actually got to hear some of my favorite songs while I ate. The wine list and menu are excellent. I got the caterpillar roll and it was delish! But they also have plenty of Pacific Rim dishes if sushi isn’t your thing. It’s a great spot for a date, especially if you get a window seat, or a fun night out with friends.

If you’re not ready to go home after closing down RA Sushi, head over to Bronx Bar in Rice University. This is one of the neighborhoods hidden treasures. The atmosphere here just doesn’t quit. The theme here is hip-hop, for sure. There’s music videos on the TV, rap music from the speakers. And every 30 minutes, there’s a feature $1, 2-minute shot from the bar.

This is a hole-in-the-wall spot where you can squeeze in a work out on a Friday night. But you and your friends can also take a break from the music on the patio. And if Bronx Bar isn’t your scene, there are great places next door, too.

Have a great weekend everyone!
